Kogi Guber: Tailoring Association Endorse APC Candidate »

Members of the Tailoring Association of Nigeria (TAN), Kogi State Chapter, have unanimously endorsed the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman, in the November 11th election.

The spokesperson of the group, Mrs. Blessing Dauda, made this known yesterday in Lokoja when they hosted the Convener of Avoyi Team 4 Ododo and some of her executives at their monthly meeting.

Mrs. Dauda who said that their decision to support Ododo’s candidacy was influenced by the genuine regard and recognition shown to the them by Hon. Avoyi Nwogu, the Convener of Avoyi Team for Ododo, vowed to make their votes count as they displayed their PVCs

According to her, every tailor is influential within their communities as they all have shops, workers and family members made up of their children, relatives, apprentices, and others whom they could convince to vote for the APC candidate.

She said, “Thank you for recognizing us. If you follow one tailor, many others will be won over.”

The Tailoring Association also voiced their concern about the lack of representation in the political process and requested the next government to ensure their continued inclusion in the future governance structure.

Responding, the Convener of Avoyi Team for Ododo, Hon. Avoyi Nwogu, assured the group of Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman’s commitment to the welfare of the people, sharing instances of Ododo’s generosity, stressing his dedication to uplifting the lives of the less privileged.

Hon. Nwogu in highlighting some of the leadership qualities of Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman said, “He cares for the people. He is a passionate giver. I recorded a handicapped guy some time ago on my social media handle who needed help, and before we knew it, he personally went and settled the medical bills of this young man. This has been the trend. He has been impacting lives long before he ever thought he would become a Governorship candidate.

“If you give your votes to him, it will not be a waste, just the same way the present government under Governor Yahaya Bello has worked hard to change the narrative of women and youths being relegated to the background in previous governments, Ododo will build on these achievements and do more.”

Hon. Avoyi Nwogu, who is also the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Electronic Media, said the manifesto of Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman covers the interests of women, children, and youths.

She mentioned that recreational centers, where more people would be trained to acquire skills and become self-reliant, would be established if Ododo is voted into power.

In their separate remarks, the Diaspora Coordinator of the Avoyi Team for Ododo, Mrs. Monisola Ayelabowo, and the Treasurer of the group, Mr. Woziri, praised Ododo’s good works and how he has continued to impact lives positively before coming to the limelight.

Mr. Woziri specifically mentioned how Ododo sponsored four elderly women he had met at a function, who got teased by someone to go to Jerusalem for pilgrimage and laughed it away based on their limited resources and background with one of them saying, “Who dash monkey banana” and were later amazed that Ododo heard and footed all the bills. And even sponsored another young man to go with them and ensure the elderly women’s safety while in Jerusalem.

“Your vote for Ododo will never be a regret,” he added.
