Kogi NUT Expresses Confidence in Gov Ododo, Pledges Continued Support for Administration

The Kogi State chapter of the Nigerian Union of Teachers has passed vote of confidence in the leadership of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, acknowledging its dedication to the welfare of teachers and pledged to maintain unwavering support for the government.

The group made the remark during a congratulatory visit to the Deputy Governor, Comrade Salifu Joel, who graciously received the delegation on behalf of his boss at his office in Lokoja, the state capital.

In his introductory statement, the Eastern Zonal Chairman, Comrade Ochidi Omale, observed that the current administration has exceeded the expectations of the union by significantly enhancing the well-being of teachers. He urged the administration to continue on this positive trajectory.

Likewise, the Western Zonal Chairman, Comrade Modibo highlighted the remarkable achievements of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s administration, emphasizing its focus on civil servants’ welfare and extensive infrastructural development across the state. He assured the governor of the union’s unwavering support at all times.

Similarly, Comrade Salami Anataku from the central Senatorial district praised the government for its remarkable progress in the short time since taking office. He implored Governor Ododo to continue prioritizing the welfare of the people of the state over personal interests.

The State Chairman of NUT, Comrade Dauda Yakubu, acknowledged the presence of the twenty-one local government NUT Chairmen and the Zonal leaders who had gathered to congratulate the Governor on his victory at the Election Petition Tribunal. He characterized the court’s ruling as a reflection of the people’s desires and commended the current administration’s achievements under Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, stating that it is headed in the right direction. He affirmed the teachers’ unwavering support for the government’s positive policies and programs to ensure their successful implementation. He reiterated the union’s loyalty and steadfast commitment to the government, while urging the administration to maintain its current momentum.

Receiving the guests on behalf of the Governor, the State Deputy Governor, Comrade Salifu Joel, expressed gratitude to the union for their solidarity visit. He acknowledged the NUT as a professional body of teachers, of which he was a leader before assuming the role of State Deputy Governor. He praised their support and loyalty thus far, encouraging them to continue offering their utmost support to the government. He pledged to continue collaborating with the union and all relevant stakeholders in the Education Sector to enhance the state’s overall welfare. He assured the union of the government’s unwavering commitment to prioritizing civil servants’ well-being and urged them to maintain a civil approach in their engagement, advocating for alternative dispute resolution to address any issues with the government.
