Kogi NYCN Chair, Comr. Enesi, Hails Rep. Sanni Egidi’s Appointment as House Committee Chair on Illegal Mining
Comrade Abdulrahman Abdulmumuni Enesi, newly elected Chairman of the Kogi State chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), has extended enthusiastic congratulations to Honourable Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem, Member of the House of Representatives for Ajaokuta Federal Constituency, on his appointment as chairman of the House Committee on Illegal Mining.
Enesi, in a statement issued from Lokoja on Wednesday, described the appointment as a well‑timed recognition of Hon. Abdulraheem’s dedication to public service and legislative competence.
The youth leader said: “On behalf of the youth of Kogi State, I congratulate Hon. Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem on his appointment as chairman of the House Committee on Illegal Mining. This appointment is not only well‑earned but reflects a meaningful opportunity for proactive intervention on environmental and socio‑economic challenges afflicting mining communities in our state.”
Enesi praised the lawmaker’s performance since being elected in 2023 to represent the Ajaokuta Federal Constituency under the All Progressives Congress (APC), noting that his grassroots engagements and community empowerment initiatives had already raised expectations for impactful leadership .
He further emphasized, “Illegal mining remains a major threat to public health, land degradation, and economic stability. With Hon. Abdulraheem at the helm of this crucial committee, I am optimistic that youth voices will be actively represented in national policy, ensuring local mining communities are heard, protected, and empowered.
