Preamble

The National Youth Council of Nigeria, Kogi State Chapter holds executive meeting to deliberate pertinent issues of concerns as they affect the council. This meeting became of importance owing to the recent happenings in the council as relate to Yagba East Congress, the communiqué of the out-gone coordinator, the Kogi State Youth Dialogue – Second Edition and the Inauguration of the elected local chapter coordinators.

Observation

The meeting observed the following;
That former coordinators of the local chapters, whom are currently appointees of the Government in the state and at the local government area are colluding with others to cause disaffections in the council.

That the council members, most especially the Local Chapters have deliberately turned a blind eye to the existence of the new constitution of the National Youth Council of Nigeria.

That the Congress Planning Committee of the Youth Council did a very wonderful job in carrying out her mandate bestowed on her by the Council in conducting Local Chapter Congresses.

That the Local Organizing Committees headed by members of the State Executive Councils from the various local Governments also did wonderful in supporting the Congress Planning Committee to do a wonderful job.

That the recent actions of the out-gone coordinators of the Local Government Chapters of the National youth Council of Nigeria is condemnable, malicious and wicked.

That the Communiqué of the Local Chapter negated the wisdom of the state government to channel the payment of the local chapter subvention through the state account.

That the local chapter leadership failed to properly inform members of the deduction of dues owed by member LGA before they ran to press.

That the decision of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Kogi State Chapter to sanitize the council of the illegality and inconsistencies, especially at the local chapter did not go down well with those benefitting from it.

That the Yagba East Congress and the attendant outcome is a big thorn in the flesh of the Council.

Resolutions.

The meeting resolved on the following:
That the action of the former coordinators is an affront to everything the council stands for and should be discountenance in its entirety by all a sundry.

That the former coordinators have no moral justification or responsibility to vote on any council related activity.

That the Executive Council unequivocally passes vote of confidence on the leadership of Comrade Alonge Femi Israel.

That the new constitution of the council should be produced in mass to the availability of all members in other to avoid ignorance.

That the State Executive Council under the leadership of Comr. Alonge Israel Femi will not be cowed or intimidated into retracting on the commitment to ensure those that sold the youth council buses/properties donated by His Excellency Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello.

That the State Executive Council will not be intimidated in any guise to pay subvention into personal accounts of former coordinators of the Council.

That a committee be set-up to look into the problem of Yagba East and make a recommendation to the State Executive Council before the Inauguration of the local chapters.
That the inauguration of the local chapter should be done centrally at the Glass House of Kogi State Government House.

That the Congress of the State Chapter is in process in line with the new constitution of the Youth Council and awaiting feedback from the National Secretariat of the Council.

That the Council will not tolerate the disrespect and subtle insult of the revered elders of the council.
