Kogi Polls: EBIGO, G21 groups begin November 16 Campaigns for return of Gov Bello in Central Senatorial District
The groups, G21 and Ebigo in Kogi State have kicked off their joint campaign for the return of Governor Yahaya Bello for second term return in the November 16 governorship poll.
Chairman of G21 group, Comrade Amade Edime praised the people for their support for Governor Bello, noting that he is a truly progressive leader who believes in the spirit of equality and common interest for the entire state.
He urged the Ebira not to take seriously rumours by some people that select Igala elites were pushing for what they term; “Igala Agenda,” saying even the commonest of Igala person knows that pursuers of the idea were more interested in their selfish interest than the interest of the common member of the society.
Comrade Edime described the people behind the project as those responsible for the backwardness of their own people until Governor Yahaya Bello emerged and wiped their tears and the tears of the entire state.
He said only the children of these elites actually benefitted from their stewardship when they governed the state as a non – Igala governor, Yahaya Bello was the one addressing their developmental challenges by providing them with infrastructural facilities including roads, potable water, electricity, educational development among others in company of his deputy, Hon Edward Onoja.
Hon Edime said the people of Ebiraland and the state currently have their destinies in their own hands and should not let it slip by voting massively for the APC in the November 16th governorship election.
On his part, the founder and initiator of Ebigo concept in Kogi State, Pharmacist Alexander Onoja described the concept as an idea that came about to give all the major and minor ethnic groups in the State a sense of belonging.
He said no one ethnic group was more important than the other because they need each other in all the sociopolitical and economic decisions that would bring progress to the state.
The initiator said Governor Bello has deviced deliberate policies to bring development to Kogi State through creation of high profile industries that would attract job creation, youth employment and enhanced socioeconomic wellbeing.
He noted that the governor has ensured that his administration was more concerned with peace, unity, social cohesion and emancipation of people of the state in all ramifications.
Speaking, the secretary to G21, Comrade Jatto Danbello Azeez said the group decided to embark on the sensitization in order to make the people of the state understand the importance of peace to development and said they have already mobilised to reach the 21 LGAs of the state.
