Kogi Poly begins convocation ceremonies with interdinominational church service
Despite its challenges, the future of Kogi State Polytechnic will be far more glorious than her past, and the institution’s light will continue to shine bright amongs committee of Polytechnics in Nigeria, according to the Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Dr. Usman Ogbo.
Dr. Ogbo stated this on Sunday, December 31st at the Interdinominational Service which held at the Chapel of Peace, Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja. The Service was held to mark the beginning of activities for the forthcoming 4th convocation ceremonies of Kogi State Polytechnic.
In his address, Dr. Ogbo said management decided to commence activities for the forthcoming convocation ceremony with the church service to surrender the institution to God.
The Rector, who brought warm greetings from the management of the institution to the congregation declared that “Kogi State Polytechnic will continue to grow stronger as the current management have decided to jettison parochial and divisive sentiments and focus on the goal of developing the institution”.
The Rector pointed out that the current management under his leadership have laid a solid foundation in terms of academic performance, infrastructure, students and staff welfare, stressing that the Polytechnic which was hitherto blacklisted by TETFUND due to non-compliance to terms is now removed from the blacklist and rated amongs the top performing Polytechnics in the country. This he attributed to his firm decision to ensuring that the right things are done always.
He commended the governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for prioritizing education and granting approvals to the development initiatives brought before him by the management of the institution, adding that the all-round development being witness in the school are credited to him.
He urged prayers for the continued peace in the institution, and the well-being of students, staff members and all those who will make it to the convocation slated for Saturday 5th January, 2024.
Delivering his message, the church Chaplain, Rev. S. O Adanu, commended the management of Kogi State Polytechnic under Dr. Usman Ogbo as Rector. He said the level of academic and infrastructural transformation in the Polytechnic is unprecedented.
In his message tittled “The heart of man”, the Chaplain urged all to cultivate the habit of thinking positive towards others as it was the only way to enjoy favor in the sight of God.
Earlier, the Chairman, Board of Trustees, Chapel of Peace, Dr. A. A Haruna praised the Rector and other management staff of the Polytechnic for giving a face-lift to the institution.
The BOT Chairman noted that the ratings of the Polytechnic has gone up since the appointment of Usman Ogbo as Rector. He prayed for sustenance and the success of the forthcoming convocation.
