Kogi RIFAN Boss, Rabi Emaiku grades 120 km road linking Ofu, Igalamela-Odolu
In preparation for the coming farming season, and taking advantage of the dry season as well, the Kogi state Chairperson of Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria (RIFAN), Hon. Rabi Peace Emaiku, the Onobule Omemele of CWO, has begun grading of roads leading from Ofabo main town in Ofu local government area to Cameron farm in Igalamela-Odolu local government area of Kogi State.
The RIFAN boss made this known to the press in a statement while commending the expedited action by the contractor handling the project. She noted that special attention given to grading of the roads was to enable farmers easily transport agricultural products from their farms to access roads.
According to her, “a situation where rural farmers pay high cost of transportation because of bad roads leading to the main town to sell their products discourage many people to engage in farming in rural areas.”
“Before now, these roads were in a deplorable state, as commercial and private bikes found it very difficult to ply, but with the current ongoing upgrade, vehicular movement will become possible, faster and smoother,” she said.
The 120 kilometer road had never in history received such intervention until now. It is projected that the present grading would facilitate development and economic growth in the area to drive home the economic diversification plan of the Federal government.
The youth leader of Okura-Ameji, Abdul Aminu commended Emaiku for her concerted effort in rendering selfless service to the community. He further assured her of mobilizing the youths to support the contractors handling the project.
Similarly, residents along the route extends their appreciation to Hon. Rabi Emaiku for coming to their rescue as they further pledged their unalloyed support for her and her entire team.
