Kogi Special Advisers’ Medical Outreach Concludes in Kogi West, Residents Applaud Governor Ododo
The free medical outreach organized by the Forum of Special Advisers to the Governor of Kogi State reached its climax on Sunday in Gegu, Kogi Local Government Area, as a large crowd of beneficiaries gathered at the ultramodern General Hospital to access free medical consultation and medications.
The outreach, which marked the final phase of the three-day program across the state’s senatorial districts, witnessed an impressive turnout of residents who benefited from various healthcare services provided by a team of medical professionals.
Addressing the gathering, the Kogi State Commissioner for Solid Minerals, Hon. Bashir Gegu, who hails from the community, expressed his appreciation to the Special Advisers for bringing quality healthcare closer to the grassroots, adding that they have displayed genuine love for the people. He lauded Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his commitment to the well-being of the people, describing his first year in office as remarkably impactful.
“Governor Ododo has achieved far more than many of his contemporaries within a year, and this outreach is a clear testament to his dedication to the people’s welfare,” Hon. Gegu stated. He assured that the people of Kogi Local Government Area would continue to support the administration in its efforts to deliver meaningful development across the state.
Speaking to our reporter, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Women Affairs, Hajiya Momo Gimba, expressed her excitement over the high number of indigent women who benefited from the outreach. She noted that the initiative had provided much-needed medical attention to vulnerable women who otherwise lacked access to quality healthcare.
“This outreach has greatly impacted women in our communities, and we are grateful to Governor Ododo and the Forum of Special Advisers for this noble effort,” Hajiya Habibat said.
The Chairman of the Forum of Special Advisers, Hon. Olabode Adeyemi, expressed his appreciation to his colleagues for their dedication and support, which contributed to the success of the outreach. He assured the people that, in line with the governor’s mandate, the forum would continue to support initiatives aimed at delivering the dividends of democracy to the grassroots.
“This outreach is just one of many ways we intend to support Governor Ododo’s vision of accessible healthcare and improved living standards for our people. We will remain committed to ensuring that the benefits of governance reach every corner of the state,” Adeyemi affirmed.
Several beneficiaries who received medical attention commended the state government for the initiative, noting that it has provided relief to many who face challenges in accessing quality healthcare services.
The free medical outreach, which earlier covered Kogi Central and Kogi East senatorial districts, was part of activities marking Governor Ododo’s first year in office. The initiative was widely praised for its impact on the lives of residents, reinforcing the administration’s focus on healthcare as a key pillar of governance.
