Kogi State Commissioner for Women Affairs Empowers Fire Victim in Ogori-Magongo with Relief Support

The Kogi State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajia Fatima Momoh, has brought hope to a fire victim, Mrs. Soje Ogori, a widow and mother of three whose four-bedroom home was recently destroyed by fire in Ogori-Magongo Local Government Area of Kogi State.
During her visit to the site of the devastating incident, Hajia Momoh delivered a comprehensive package of relief materials, food items, and financial aid to the affected family. This humanitarian gesture reflects the Kogi State Government’s commitment to supporting vulnerable residents during emergencies.
Speaking at the scene, the Commissioner expressed appreciation for the opportunity to support the family, emphasizing the compassionate leadership of Governor Usman Ododo. She also commended Hajia Sefinat Ododo, the First Lady of Kogi State, for her relentless efforts in improving the welfare of women, children, and displaced persons across the state.



As part of the empowerment initiative, Hajia Momoh presented Mrs. Soje with essential tools to help rebuild her life, including a sewing machine, clothing materials, bed sheets, and cash support to revive her tailoring business, which was significantly impacted by the fire outbreak.
The Commissioner praised the women leaders in Ogori-Magongo for their resilience and collective spirit in times of adversity. She assured them of the state government’s ongoing efforts to promote socio-economic development, disaster relief, and community empowerment across all local government areas.
“The support provided today is not just relief; it’s a foundation for long-term empowerment,” Hajia Momoh emphasized. “We aim to restore hope and help Mrs. Soje regain her financial independence.”
In her response, Mrs. Soje Ogori expressed deep gratitude to the Commissioner for Women Affairs, stating that the intervention has given her a renewed sense of hope and strength to rebuild her life.
