Kogi State Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development Visits Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Seeks Partnership

The Kogi State Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Hon. Monday Aridaojo Anyebe, paid a courtesy visit to the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, HRM, Dr. Ahmedtijani Muhammed Anaje, at his palace in Okene. The visit, which took place on Wednesday, aimed at exploring potential collaborations between the state government and the traditional institutions to promote sports and youth empowerment.

During the meeting, Hon. Anyebe emphasized the critical role of traditional leaders in mobilizing community support for government programs. He highlighted various youth and sports development projects initiated by the Kogi State government, stressing the importance of partnerships to achieve sustainable growth and development.

“The Ohinoyi of Ebiraland has always been a beacon of leadership and we believe that a partnership with your esteemed office will significantly boost our efforts in engaging the youth in this region,” he stated.

The Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Dr. Ahmedtijani Muhammed Anaje, in his response, expressed his support for the government’s initiatives and lauded the Commissioner’s proactive approach in seeking collaboration. He assured Hon. Anyebe of his commitment to rallying the community behind these developmental efforts.

“Our youths are our future, and their development is paramount. I am pleased with the plans outlined by the Commissioner and I assure you that Ebiraland will support and participate actively in these initiatives,” he said.

The meeting also served as a platform for discussing specific projects, including the forthcoming sensitization program against drugs and substance abuse.

Hon. Anyebe’s visit to the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland is part of a broader strategy by the Kogi State Ministry of Youths and Sports Development to involve traditional rulers in the execution of its policies and programs. The ministry plans to extend similar outreach to other traditional leaders across the state to ensure widespread support and participation.
