This assurance was given by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo, when he received the Excos of National Association of Kogi State Law Students of Nigeria (NAKOLSON) in his office.

One of the biggest commitments of His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, is to ensure that we have a very peaceful, violence-free election, an election that would be peaceful before, during and even after the election itself.” Hon. Fanwo said.
Speaking further, the Commissioner said the Government would commit anything to ensure that lives and properties are safe pointing out that politics is power contestation and that those who want power would come out to contest for it.
He stated that the reason the contestants want power is to be able to serve the people adding that one cannot serve the people by force adding that it is either they are entrusting the candidates with that responsibility or they are rejecting their offer of service admonishing the people to refrain from making the election a war.
The Hon. Commissioner emphasised the importance of proper orientation and sensitization of the people adding that his ministry is solely committed to carrying out this for the people to be well oriented and senstized in order to desist from election violence.
In an earlier statement, the president of the association, Mr Ismail Saliif, commended the staff of the Ministry for their warmth and professional welcome into to the ministry which, he said, shows clearly the leader’s acceptance, appreciating the Commissioner for giving them audience inspite of his busy and tight schedule saying that it trully shows the Governor’s love for the development for the youths.
In his speech, he said that the National Association of Kogi State Law Students of Nigeria was formed in 2015 and has been registered with the State Ministry of Youth and Sports.
He stressed that the association has the aims and objectives of giving back to the society not minding the welfarism cost disclosing that they have drawn different programmes that would guide the younger ones on choosing career, to stay away from cyber crimes, smoking and other criminalities. He presented a printed copy of programmes prepared by the association to enlighten the youths on the forthcoming election titled, “Strengthen Democracy in Nigeria, Kogi State Election in View”, pledging to support the Government to maintain peace before, during and after the election.
