Kogi State government’s free education policy kicks-off in College of Education Demonstration School Ankpa
The Kogi State Government Policy on Free Education from Basic to Secondary School level has officially kicked-off in the Demonstration Schools of the Kogi State College of Education, Ankpa.
This development follows an interactive session between the College Management, the School Directorate and representatives of the Parents, Teachers Association (PTA), chaired by the Provost of the College, Dr. M.K Ibrahim. The Provost informed the meeting that the Executive Governor of the State Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello CON has graciously directed for the immediate commencement of the Policy in the Demonstration Primary & Secondary Schools in the College for the overall benefits of all and sundry in line with the free education policy of his administration.
The Provost enumerated that the Policy provides for free tuition at all levels and payment for all internal and external examinations to include the Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE), WAEC, NECO and JAMB by the State Government.
Dr. Ibrahim stated that this Policy will increase enrolment thereby reducing the population of out-of-school children especially girls who are still educationally disadvantaged.
The Provost commended the Executive Governor for his unmatched interest in educational development in the State and the overwhelming support received by the College over the years and particularly under his Management team.
The Provost implores the Ankpa Community in particular and the good people of Kogi State in general to continue to support the administration of His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for this laudable humanist policy that will continue to withstand the test of time.
