Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello denies rumour of relocation of Multi Million Naira Ethanol Plant from Kogi West to Central Senatorial District
Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has denied insinuations in some quartets his administration has relocated the Bio Ethanol Plant project at Alape in Kogi West to the Central Senatorial District.
The governor further noted that instead of the circulated falsehood of the relocation, the Okun people would house four of such plants in different part of the Senatorial Area.
He made this known today, Tuesday at the State Government House in Lokoja while receiving a delegation of political office holders, traditional rulers and others from the seven Local Government Councils in the area.
In their goodwill messages, they all endorsed the governor’s second term re-election ambition and restated their commitment to working towards the achievement of the November 2nd goal.
Governor Bello said part of his government’s agenda for Kogi State was to change the narrative of the state being a civil service dominated state to an economically viable one where the State could feed itself and generate wealth.
He opined that such narration would be done through vast investment in the Agricultural sector, which the Federal Government under the leadership of President Muhamadu Buhari has revolutionized.
The Governor then pointed out that the Government was also focusing its attention on human capital development majorly through the agricultural sector and proposed a 500,000 hectares of cassava plantation which would be divided into ten colonies of 50,000 hectares that would be spread across the three senatorial districts of the State.
He noted that each of the colonies would in turn have Bio-Ethanol Plant, Starch Manufacturing Plant, Garri Processing Plant, Cassava Pellet Plant and Cassava Leaf Plant in not less than 15 Local Government Areas of the State.
Governor Bello revealed that these plants would base on conservatively generate estimated $80 million Annually per colony and engage about 200,000 unemployed youths across the State.
He said the State government was making the move to effectively utilize their ancestral lands to create wealth for the state, the children and generations to come.
The State Governor mentioned that his government being practical and determined remained focused and would not be distracted by noise peddlers on the social media.
Governor Bello said that as the people has urged him to further soldier the affairs of the state through their endorsement of his re-election bid, he would not disappoint them.
He pledged to look into all request put forward to him, promising that he had given an express order that the Water Project in Kotokarfe be completed in few days time.
The State Governor also expressed that his administration would as the leader of the All Progressive Congress in the State, make a case for the interest of women to hold key positions at the Local Government Areas, when the election are conducted.
