Kogi state partners with china, aims at N591 billion economy
The Chinese Government has concluded arrangements to build a nuclear plant in Kogi state to compliment current efforts geared towards driving industry and investment as well as improve power generation in the North Central State.
Kogi state Governor, Yahaya Bello made this known on Thursday in Abuja at a trade and Investment forum organised by Kogi State Government in partnership with the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria.
Conversations at this gathering centred around how the Government of Kogi State can leverage existing ties with China to drive industrialization for rapid development of the confluence State.
The Kogi State delegation to the forum was led by Governor Yahaya Bello who has been on a mission to attract foreign investment to the state. It was considered a successful meeting as the team from Kogi met with 10 Chinese companies that signalled Interest to invest in the State.
The urgent need to revive Ajaokuta steel company, development infrastructure including rail lines in Kogi State was also discussed at this forum, Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria Cui recalled his recent visit to Kogi State, saying that the State and China have so much in common
He expressed confidence that the cooperation between Kogi State and the Government of China will continue to flourish for the benefit of all, the Chinese envoy says his country is still in the process of facilitating currency swap to help the ease of doing business.
