Kogi State Polytechnic Congratulates Governor Ododo on First Anniversary in Office

The Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Prof. Salisu O. Usman, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, on the occasion of his first anniversary in office.

In a statement issued to mark the milestone, Prof. Usman lauded Governor Ododo’s dedication to the sustainable development of the education sector and the state at large, describing him as a “true Chief Servant of the people.”

The Rector stressed several key achievements of the governor within the past year, particularly in enhancing the infrastructure and welfare of the institution. They include: The historic fencing of the Itakpe campus to improve security; Provision of a transformer to boost electricity supply at the Itakpe campus; Installation of solar street lights on the Lokoja campus for better illumination; Deployment of CCTV cameras to enhance security operations across both campuses; Accreditation of 18 programs and the introduction of 8 new ones to expand access to polytechnic education; and Implementation of the minimum wage alongside a tax holiday, a health insurance scheme, and prompt payment of salaries.

    Prof. Usman emphasized that these achievements reflect the governor’s commitment to ensuring the safety and welfare of staff and students.

    He further expressed confidence in the leadership of Governor Ododo and his deputy, Comrade Joel Salifu Oyibo, affirming their ability to deliver more dividends of democracy to the people of Kogi State.

    The Rector concluded by offering prayers for the governor’s continued success and assured him of the institution’s support in his efforts to drive development across the state.
