Kogi State Zonal Security Adviser Urges Communities to Reject Criminal Elements

The Zonal Security Adviser to Governor Usman Ododo for Ankpa Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed MPI, has called on communities to refrain from harboring criminal elements, emphasizing the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety of all residents.

Rt. Hon. Ahmed made this appeal during a high-level security meeting held in Abejukolo, the headquarters of Omala Local Government Area (LGA). The meeting, convened by the Executive Chairman of Omala LGA, Hon. Edibo Peter Ameh Mark, was in response to the recent killing of one Abu Okelewu in Ojuwo community by suspected herdsmen.

The engagement brought together community leaders, traditional rulers, and key stakeholders to discuss proactive measures to enhance security in the region. While expressing condolences to the bereaved family and the Ojuwo community, Rt. Hon. Ahmed commended residents for maintaining peace and allowing law enforcement agencies to conduct investigations. He urged against reprisal attacks, cautioning that such actions would amount to taking the law into their own hands.

He reiterated the commitment of Governor Usman Ododo’s administration to making Kogi State a safe and secure environment for all. He advised community members to promptly report any suspicious activities or unfamiliar individuals to security agencies for swift intervention.

To further address the concerns of the people, Rt. Hon. Ahmed documented complaints from various community leaders (Gagos), assuring them that their grievances would be investigated and resolved appropriately.

Following the meeting, the Zonal Security Adviser visited the police station and the Kogi State Vigilante Service (KSVS) station, where he engaged with security personnel, listened to their challenges, and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to collaborative security efforts aimed at ensuring lasting peace in the area.
