Kogi Vet. Doctors hail Gov Ododo Over Approval, Implementation of Revised CONMESS, Appeals Payment of Accumulated Arrears

Veterinary doctors in Kogi state have hailed the state government over its recent approval and implementation of the Consolidated Medical Salary Structure (CONMESS) for its members within the Kogi State Civil Service.
According to Dr. Omotugba Tolu, Chairman, Nigeria Veterinary Medical Association, Kogi state during a press briefing on Wednesday, the state government’s gesture emphasizes Governor Ododo’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of Kogi State workers and his recognition of the pivotal role the veterinary profession plays in the State’s economic prosperity.
“This approval has motivated us to carry out our duties with renewed enthusiasm and the highest level of dedication” he added.
He however appealed to the Governor to facilitate the prompt payment of the accumulated arrears since the salary structure’s implementation in January, 2021.
Dr. Omotugba mentioned similarly that as key stakeholders in the livestock industry and given the significant and growing population of livestock in Kogi State, the state governor should leverage on the newly created Ministry of Livestock Development by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led administration.
He said the association was advocating for the establishment of a similar Ministry in Kogi State and the appointment of a credible Veterinarian as its commissioner.
