Kogi Women Affairs Commissioner Celebrates Yuletide with Orphans, Special Needs Children
The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development in Kogi State, Hajia Fatimah Momoh, has marked the yuletide season with acts of love and compassion by supporting orphanages and children with special needs in the Lokoja metropolis.
As part of the festive celebration, Hon. Fatimah donated food items and cash gifts to orphanage homes and schools for special children, emphasizing the commitment of the Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo-led administration to caring for the less privileged.
During her visit to Stagy Orphanage in Adankolo, the commissioner commended Governor Ododo for his consistent efforts to spread joy among the people of Kogi State, especially the vulnerable. She stressed the governor’s dedication to ensuring a memorable celebration for all, including early payment of salaries to civil servants and the distribution of food items to workers and the needy.
The commissioner assured the orphanage management of Governor Ododo’s continued support in raising the children to become worthy ambassadors of the state. She praised their selfless service to humanity, noting that their efforts have significantly impacted the children’s lives.
Similarly, Hon. Fatimah extended her visit to the Lokoja School for the Deaf, where she commended the principal, Mrs. Ayodele Anifowoshe, and her staff for their unwavering care and support for the special needs children. She expressed gratitude for their dedication, stating that their efforts have kept the children smiling despite their challenges.
“I thank you for taking good care of these children. You make them look so happy and excited despite their challenges. I also want to thank His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Usman Ododo, for remembering our special children as we celebrate the season. We’ll continue to do our best to support you,” she assured.
The management and children of the visited homes expressed heartfelt gratitude to Governor Ododo and the commissioner for their support and for giving them a sense of belonging during the festive season.
Among the institutions visited by the commissioner and her delegation were Stagy Orphanage, Rerhoboth Orphanage, and Lokoja School for the Deaf.
