The Deputy Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Kogi State chapter, Comrade Osiako Sunday, has commended the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Honourable Monday Aridaojo Anyebe, for his outstanding leadership in repositioning the ministry and effectively representing the youths of the state.

Speaking to newsmen in Lokoja on Monday, Comrade Osiako praised Honourable Anyebe for his active engagement with Kogi’s young population, noting that under his leadership, the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development has seen an unprecedented revival. “The ministry, once considered inactive, has now become a hub of activity, spearheading impactful programs aimed at youth development and sports promotion,” Osiako said.

Citing the successful hosting of several key initiatives, including the sensitization against drug abuse, the Youth Engagement Summit, International Youth Day celebrations, Students Parley and the recent Sports Summit, Comrade Osiako expressed his admiration for the commissioner’s efforts. “These programs have not only brought youths together but have given them a platform to voice their concerns and be part of decision-making processes that affect their future,” he added.

The NYCN Deputy Chairman also stressed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting athletes and young persons with disabilities, particularly through their sponsorship of Kogi’s youth to national and international events. He noted that such initiatives have boosted the morale of young people across the state, as they feel recognized and supported by the government.

Furthermore, Comrade Sunday applauded Honourable Anyebe’s role in mobilizing youth support for the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, stating that the commissioner has effectively bridged the gap between the government and the young populace. “The youths of Kogi State have full confidence in Honourable Anyebe’s leadership. He has proven to be a strong advocate for young people and has represented us very well in government,” he said.

While praising Governor Ododo for identifying and appointing Honourable Anyebe to head the youth and sports development ministry, the NYCN Deputy Chairman expressed optimism that under Honourable Anyebe’s continued leadership, the ministry would keep achieving greater heights, and the youth of Kogi State would remain at the forefront of development initiatives aimed at actualizing the consolidation agenda of governor Ododo in building a brighter future for Kogi state.
