KOICA PMC trains NKFI instructors, repair damaged training equipments

….supports Institution’s promotional efforts

The Korean International Cooperation Agency through its Project Management Committee commenced training for instructors of Nigeria-Korea Friendship institute in a bid to upscale their knowledge and better position them to render instructional services that are of international gauge to students. KOICA also supported the institute’s promotional efforts.

In an interview with the team lead, Diana Kim she said NKFI instructors in the second phase of the program were trained on how to build their capacities in areas of curriculum design, planning and development of their learning and teaching planning.

She added that the team also conducted Intensive training for each major subject in the institute, including Auto care, Computer Software Engineering, Networking/system Security, Electrical Electronics Technology, Welding and Fabrication alongside repair of some practical equipment.

Kim opined that NKFI was quite strategic in raising viable and employable target audience to meet up with the demands of skilled workers because of the unique advantage the institution has in manpower, quality training equipment and exposure hence people around must make the most of the opportunity which the institute was offering.

Reacting to the training, the Rector, NkFI Mr. Charles Oluwatoyin pointed out that KOICA has been a strong support system for the institution right from its inception noting that instructors of NKFI have benefited greatly from training both within and outside the country.

He noted that the intensive trainings which the instructors have been exposed to has further enhanced their capacity to deliver maximally to their students noting that KOICA’s passion at growing NKFI and positioning it among the top tier vocational and technological advancement institute is laudable and the institute was hopeful of many more benefits from the partnership.

The Head of Department, Information Communication Technology Mr. Haruna Atabor expressed that the exposure and training from KOICA has helped them remain abreast with advancement in their respective fields of training.
