Lokoja Chairman Visits Schools Used as IDP Camps, Commits To Improving Infrastructures, Security

The Lokoja LGA Caretaker Chairman Comrade Abdullahi Adamu has visited some schools in Lokoja Local Government Area as part of the government’s resolve to revamp the facilities and other school infrastructures.

Accompanied by the Acting Education Secretary, Mall Yakubu A.D, the Caretaker Chairman was received by the Kabawa Community leaders, School heads and other senior Management Staff of the schools.

The Council Boss who toured the Islamiya 1, Islamiya 2, UBE and Local Government Secondary School, Kabawa assured the Community of government commitments to improve both the infrastructural and also tackle the security challenges faced because of the porous nature of the school.

According to the leader of the Community, the four schools located within the perimeter have been serving as an IDP Camp during floods and that has contributed to the delapidation. He appealed to the government to come to their aid as criminals have turned the schools to hiding and smoking joints.

Comrade Abdullahi Adamu also toured the Model Primary School Cantonment to access broken fence and other damages on the facility. He promised that the Kogi State Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo is highly committed to providing a safe educational environment.

He assured the Management that attention will be given to ensure that the challenges are overcomed.
