Lokoja Chairman Warns Against Tyre Burning, Road Blocking During New Year Celebrations
The Executive Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Area, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu, has called on residents to avoid harmful practices, including the burning of tyres and blocking of access roads, during the New Year celebrations.
In a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Iliyasu Zakari, the Chairman expressed concerns about the environmental and public safety risks associated with such activities. He urged residents to prioritize the protection of public infrastructure and the promotion of a safe and healthy environment.
“The New Year is a time of joy and celebration, and we want it to be incident-free,” Comrade Adamu said. “I encourage everyone to explore safer ways to celebrate that do not endanger our environment or compromise public safety.”
The Chairman’s office assured the public that it is working closely with relevant agencies and stakeholders to ensure smooth and secure festivities. Residents were encouraged to foster a positive and festive atmosphere that benefits everyone.
The Lokoja LGA leadership reaffirmed its commitment to creating an environment conducive to peaceful celebrations, urging all residents to act responsibly.
