Lokoja LG Chairman Summons Emergency Meeting With Head of Security Agencies
The Executive Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Area Comrade Abdullahi Adamu has convened an emergency security behind closed doors this afternoon in his office in Lokoja.
The Council Chairman while speaking to the press shortly after the meeting ended declared that meeting is part of the proactive measures taken by Governor Usman Ododo to emsure that Kogi State is safe.
“In view of the recent security breaches targeting isolated churches and schools in neighbouring states and the security reports by the Nigerian Police and Department Of State Services we are taking proactive steps to protect our people and ensure their safety at all times.”
Speaking on behalf of the joint security team, the Lokoja Area Commander of the Nigerian Police, ACP Abubakar Umar expressed the readiness of the security agents to carry out the assignment. He also commends the Chairman for providing all the logistics support needed for a smooth operation.
Also in attendance are the DPOs of Obajana, A Division, B Division and D Division, NSCDC Divisional Office Felele, Commander KSVS Lokoja, VGN. Others are the Secretary to Lokoja Local Government, Hon. Abubakar Danjuma Muhammed, DSO Local Government, representatives of the Christian Association of Nigeria and the Council Of Ulama.
Several ideas has been put forward including beefing up security around isolated schools, increased surveillance and intelligence gathering, and temporary cessation of religious gathering in isolated religious centers especially in rural and suburban communities.
