Lokoja LGA Caretaker Chairman Visits Kogi State Polytechnic, Reiterate Government’s Commitment To Security

The Lokoja Local Government Transition Committee Chairman, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu has visited the Rector, Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, Dr. Usman Ogbo in his office on Wednesday, May 14, 2024 .

The Chairman stated that the visit was part of the Local Government’s resolve to synergize with all stakeholders particularly the higher institutions, National and Multinational organisations in the local government in providing adequate Security.

“My team and I have just left the Palace of the Eleson of Felele where our plans to come up with more security offices along the Felele-Crusher axis were discussed. We are also working on a Security Trust Fund with the support of well meaning individuals, government and private institutions.”

He commends the Rector for restoring the academic standard of the Polytechnic and other numerous structural and of course, visible infrastructural achievements.

While advocating for more job opportunities for the host community, the Chairman commended the Rector for yielding to the complaints of the host community in the last two recruitment exercises. He assures the Polytechnic Management of the Local Governments continuous support and synergy particularly in providing safety of students both within and outside the Campus.

Dr. Usman Ogbo while welcoming the visiting team applauds the Chairman’s
Humility and the proactive steps upon resumption of office which helped curb the surge of criminal activities around students communities.

The Rector assures the Local Government of the institution’s readiness to partner in the best interest of the Institution, Local Government and Kogi State, noting that the Peace in Lokoja has been transmitted into the campus. He however appeals to the people of Lokoja to take ownership of the institution and ensure it continues to grow.

Other Management Staff present includes the Deputy Rector, Dr. Samuel Taiwo Olowo; Registrar, Elder Sunday Aiyeetan; BursarMr. Adeika Obaro Obadaki, and the Director, Directorate of Public Relations and Protocol, Mrs. Uredo Omale.
