Mammoth Crowd as Youths Hold Solidarity Walk to Mark Governor Ododo’s One Year in Office
A large crowd of enthusiastic youths in Lokoja on Sunday took to the streets on Saturday in a solidarity walk to celebrate the one-year anniversary of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s administration. The march, which started from the popular Paparanda Square, saw the youths chanting praises and displaying banners in appreciation of the governor’s achievements within his first year in office.
The solidarity walk was led by the All Progressives Congress (APC) State Youth Leader, Hon. Mohammed U. Mohammed, who guided the energetic crowd to the Government House, where they were warmly received by Governor Ododo.
In his address, Hon. Mohammed expressed gratitude to the immediate past governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, for his foresight in supporting Governor Ododo’s candidacy, describing it as a “beautiful gift” to the state. He commended the incumbent Governor Usman Ododo for consolidating on the policies of his predecessor, particularly in the area of youth inclusiveness and development.
“The governor has not only continued the legacy of his predecessor but has also introduced new initiatives that have further empowered the youth of Kogi State. We are here today to show our appreciation and unwavering support,” Mohammed said.
The youth leader noted that the numerous achievements of the governor in infrastructure, workers welfare, security and unification has further placed the state on a steady pedestal of growth. He assured that the youths will continue to rally round the governor to ensure that his lofty agenda for the devstate are actualize.
Receiving the youths, Governor Ododo, represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ozigi Deedat, expressed the gratitude of the governor for their support and assured them of the governor’s commitment to youth empowerment and developmental projects aimed at improving the lives of Kogi residents. He reaffirmed the administration’s dedication to job creation, education, and infrastructural development, promising that Ododo will continue to build on the foundation laid by his predecessor.
Governor Ododo, who assumed office on January 27, 2024, has embarked on various developmental projects, with a focus on security, education, and infrastructural development, earning him commendation from different quarters.
