Mopa Traditional Council Honours Provost KSCOET as Champion of Community Development
The Mopa Traditional Council has conferred the prestigious Champion of Community Development award on the Provost, Kogi State College of Education (Technical), Mopa, Professor Muhammad. Kabir Ibrahim, in recognition of his outstanding developmental strides within the College and the Mopa community.
The award was presented by the Elulu of Mopa, His Royal Majesty Oba Dr. Muyiwa Ibeun, during the End-of-Year Mopa Traditional Council Programme held in Mopa.
While presenting the honour, the Elulu described the award as the highest distinction bestowed on an individual by the Council, noting that it reflects Prof. Ibrahim’s commitment to community development, institutional growth, and harmonious relations between the College and its host community.
The traditional ruler commended the Provost for fostering peace, mutual respect, and cooperation between the College and the Mopa community, adding that his leadership has contributed significantly to infrastructural development, youth empowerment, and social cohesion within the area.
In his response, Prof. Ibrahim expressed profound gratitude to the Traditional Council and the entire Mopa community for the honour, describing it as a motivation to do more. He reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining development initiatives and strengthening the cordial relationship between the institution and its host community.
The event was attended by members of the Traditional Council, community leaders, College management, staff, and other distinguished guests, marking a fitting end to the year’s activities and celebrating leadership dedicated to service and development.
