The Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) to the Kogi State Governor from Mopamuro Local Government Area have lauded the member representing Mopamuro State Constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Olawumi Jacob, for his impactful leadership, particularly in the areas of security and welfare.

The commendation was made during a courtesy visit to the lawmaker, where the SSAs, through their spokesperson, Hon. Ajayi Tope Santos, described Hon. Olawumi as one of the most effective and responsive legislators in the state.

Hon. Santos highlighted that the visit was organized to celebrate the exceptional contributions of their representative, who has remained proactive in addressing the concerns of his constituents. He praised Hon. Olawumi’s swift response to security issues in Mopamuro and neighboring communities, as well as his collaboration with security agencies and local stakeholders to ensure the safety of lives and property.

He further emphasized the importance of unity among political officeholders in Mopamuro, stating that collective efforts would yield greater development for the local government. Hon. Santos also applauded the legislator’s efforts in facilitating the relocation of the College of Education (Technical), Mopa, a development he described as a significant educational milestone for the area.

In his response, Hon. Olawumi Jacob expressed gratitude to the visiting SSAs for their solidarity and recognition. He reaffirmed his commitment to legislative duties that prioritize the development of Mopamuro, citing ongoing efforts to rehabilitate the Community Secondary School, in collaboration with Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo. He also mentioned infrastructural projects such as the construction of the Orokere-Takete-Ide Road and the inclusion of five additional communities in rural electrification initiatives.

Hon. Olawumi further disclosed his continuous support for constituents through social intervention programs, including regular offsetting of hospital bills, particularly at Rehoboth Hospital, Odole Mopa, payment of school fees, and facilitation of employment opportunities for at least eight Mopamuro indigenes.

He commended the Executive Chairman of Mopamuro LGA, Hon. Ademola Bello Destiny, for creating a secure and business-friendly environment in the area. According to him, “Mopamuro is indeed blessed to have a dynamic and committed Executive Chairman for the very first time.”

Hon. Olawumi urged all political stakeholders in Mopamuro to maintain synergy and foster collaboration, noting that greater achievements are possible through unity than through individual efforts.
