NEMA, SEMA Distributes Relief Materials to Victims of Omala Crisis

In a bid to give hope and relief to the displaced persons at Bagana and Agojeju- Odo in Omala LGA as a result of Communal crisis and Herder’s attack, the Kogi State Government has taken the bull by the horn, ensuring prompt release and distribution of relief materials from the Federal Government through National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to complement the efforts of the State Government.

During the Flag off ceremony of the distribution of relief materials at Abejukolo , the headquarters of Omala Local Government Area, the Executive Secretary SEMA, reiterated that the present administration of Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo will leave no stone unturned in bringing permanent peace to Omala people. He preached love and admonished them to embrace peace.

Stressing further, the SEMA Boss urged them to rally support for our committed Governor to succeed by “consolidating on the good work of his predecessor” in leading Kogi State to sustainable development.

The SEMA Boss appreciated the NEMA team for the seamless distribution of the relief materials to the attacked victims.

The Head of NEMA team, Mr Agonta Collins, sympathized with the affected communities and thanked them for the orderliness during distribution and admonished for more united Omala as people .

The Omala LGA Caretaker Chairman, Hon Edibo Ameh, his team and Omala critical stakeholders received NEMA and SEMA officials at Abejukolo, the Omala Local Government Headquarters.

He thanked the Federal Government for the love shown to Omala people that were displaced from their original homes to IDPs camps. Hon. Edibo Ameh equally appreciated His Excellency , Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo who has been supporting and sending relief materials to cushion the effects of the crisis on the victims.

Responding, One of the beneficiaries, Mr Suleiman Shehu from Bagana, appreciated the Federal Government and State Government for the love practically demonstrated to them. He promised that Bagana people will remain committed in supporting the Current administrations of both the Federal and State Government.

In the same vein, One of the beneficiaries, Mr Yusuf Idakwo from Agojeju-Odo, appreciated the State Government and the Federal Government for their timely interventions.
