New Year: Kogi youths will continue to be change makers, trailblazers – NYCN Chairman, Jeremiah
As we bid farewell to the old and welcome the new, I want to reflect on the incredible journey we have had together this past year. Despite the challenges and uncertainties that we faced, the youths of Kogi State have shown resilience, unity, and determination like never before.
Before anything, I would like to once again, on behalf of the state executive of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Kogi State, express our grief over the death of three promising youths Adaji Benjamin, Rilwan Abas and Mujaye Dansofo who were shot and killed during the December 26th Egume Marathon. Our hearts goes out to the family of the deceased, and we call on the relevant authority to do a thorough investigation on the matter and ensure that justice is served accordingly.
The year 2023 tested our strength in countless ways, pushing us to adapt, innovate, and find new solutions. We have witnessed the power of our collective voice as we stood up for social justice and equality. We have demonstrated our ability to come together, support one another, and make a difference in our communities.
As we step into the new year, let us carry forward the lessons we have learned and the experiences that have shaped us. Let us continue to be the change-makers, the trailblazers, and the advocates for a better Kogi state in particular, and Nigeria at large. The challenges we face are not going away, but we have proven time and time again that we are capable of overcoming them.
In the coming year, let us harness the power of our youth and channel our energy towards creating positive change. Let us amplify our voices on issues that matter to mental health to inclusiveness and social justice.
As your new Chairman, it is my resolve to carry every youth along, listen to different perspectives, and work towards building bridges, we are not alone in this journey. We have each other and together, we are an unstoppable force. I urge us to continue to cultivate hope and optimism. Let us believe in our ability to shape the future and leave a lasting impact.
I wish you all a happy and prosperous New Year filled with love, joy, and success. Together, let us make 2024 a year of transformation, impact, and hope.
With warmest regards,
Comrade Benjamin Jeremiah
Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria, Kogi State chapter
