NKFI can curb insecurity, unemployment in Kogi state – Rector assures
- says Gov Ododo promises to prioritize Technical, Vocational education that will equip Kogi youths, prepare them for global demands
The Rector Nigeria-Korea Friendship Institute has stated that the institution has the capability to solve insecurity and unemployment challenges around the state and beyond.
He made these assertions while speaking with news men during an interview within the week. He stated that the institute’s state of the art Cybersecurity facilities when deployed could assist Security operatives for intelligence gathering, thereby aiding in combating crimes or preventing it. He hinted that the institute is developing an application which upon completion would help resolve several challenges facing the security agencies.
“In today’s rapidly evolving world, technology has become an indispensable tool in combating various security challenges. The integration of technology into security systems enhances surveillance, intelligence gathering, and response capabilities” Williams Charles stated.
He alluded that Governor Ododo’s resolve to consolidate on past administration’s effort as it concerns insecurity can be boosted with technology which aligns with the global trend of leveraging technological advancements in security measures.
“The use of surveillance cameras, biometric identification systems, and data analytics has proven to be effective in preventing and combating criminal activities. By investing in technology, the Governor aims to create a safer and more secure environment for the citizens” he expressed.
He added that technology could facilitate communication and collaboration among security agencies, leading to more efficient and coordinated efforts in addressing security threats stating that real-time information sharing, predictive analytics, and automated response systems enable quick and effective decision-making, thereby thwarting potential security risks.
On the issueof unemployment, he stated that Vocational education plays a vital role in shaping the future of individuals and the entire nation stressing that such form of learning equips individuals with practical skills and knowledge that are directly applicable to the workforce.
He hinted that Governor Ododo recognizes the need to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world applications and such approach would not only empowers individuals with the necessary skill set but also paves the way for economic growth and development.
The Rector said Governor Ododo has promised to prioritize vocational education as his government aims to empower individuals with the necessary skills for the job market, thereby reducing unemployment and fostering economic growth.
The Rector attested that the emphasis on skill acquisition through vocational education and the utilization of technology to solve insecurity reflects Governor Ododo Ahmed Ododo’s dedication to the holistic development of the state asserting that by investing in these two crucial areas, the governor aims to create a society that is not only economically prosperous but also safe and secure.
