NKFI Set to Honour Late Prof. M.I Ajibero with Memorial Lecture

…announces commencement of NKFI part-time center, Obajana and Lokoja Campus

Owing to his immense contributions to the academia particularly his huge investment in research and nurturing young academia, the Nigeria-Korea Friendship Institute of Vocational and Advanced technology has announced plans to hold a first of its kind Prof. M.I Ajibero memorial lecture at the institution to honour his memory.

The Late Prof. Idowu M. Ajibero Memorial Lecture scheduled for October 2024 has a line up of events featuring a paper presentation, the launch of the Prof. Ajibero Foundation, awarding of fellowships to deserving Kogi indigenes, and unveiling NKFI’s strategic plan.

This was made known on Wednesday in a press statement signed by the Rector, William Charles Oluwatoyin, where he also announced that the institution is set to commence effective from November 2024 what he described as part-time programs scheduled to hold on Fridays and Saturdays for those who always have very busy weekdays and are still interested in acquiring vocational and technical certifications.

According to him some of the courses includes, Computer Software Engineering, Networking and Systems Security, Welding and Fabrication, Automobile Mechatronics Engineering, Library and Information Technology and Transport System Engineering as participants would be awarded National Diplomas (ND).

The Rector also mentioned that the institution as part of its Host community/Institution collaborations would establish Part-time centers at Obajana community and Lokoja, the state capital starting from November, 2024.

He hinted that as part of plans to attract more intakes at the institution, NKFI has strategise to bring the citadel of learning closer to the people and ensure that they have access to it at their convenience.

The Rector said “we are very delighted to inform the General public of a scheduled memorial lecture in honour of the revered late Prof. M.I Ajibero, who made very indelible contributions to furthering learning and other profitable ventures. His immense contribution has championed such recognition and as an instituiton we are honoured to have received the permission of his family to undertake such noble task”

According to the Rector, Prof. Ajibero in his lifetime dedicated himself to nurturing the younger generation of academia and his legacies remained unforgettable. We are also glad that in his memory, academic papers which would further contribute to the academia would be presented while the institution would also unveil its long term strategic plan 2022-2029 which would foster better efficiency in the immediate and the nearest future.

With regards to some of the part time programs set to commence, the Rector admonished concerned and interested individuals to make the most of the opportunities provided noting that vocational and technical learning and certification have become a lifeline towards escaping unemployment and become self sufficient in a creative and innovative 21st century where skills towers paper certification .
