No Soldier Was Killed in Kogi – CP

…confirms arrest of 56 Looters.

The Kogi State Police Command has described the rumour making the rounds about the death of a soldier as a lie, lamented about the anxiety the misinformation has caused.

The Kogi State Police Commissioner, CP Ayuba Edeh, in a briefing with Newsmen said that the rumour was unfounded, urged members of the Public to disregard the rumour.

The Police explained that people became agitated and were spreading the misinformation that a soldier was killed, around old market, MC. Ali Close and Nuj, but said nothing of such happened.

The Police urged the people to go about there normal duty as the state is peaceful, warned against rumour mongering, and peddling false information, says it is inimical to Peaceful coexistence.

The Police says it is on monitoring and surveillance, said in the last 72 hours, the state has been safe after initial looting by some miscreants, says presently it has arrested fifty six persons in connection with the looting.

The Police said there is no need for panic assuring that all is well asked for cooperation from members of the Public to enable it track criminals for a better Kogi
