‘Nothing has changed in the New Direction Gov’t’ – Onoja

Contrary to speculations among critics of the present administration in Kogi State about who has influence and who does not, the Deputy Governor of the state Chief Edward Onoja has laughed off insinuations that he has lost clout within the circle.

Chief Onoja who was speaking when he hosted combined groups of Ogugu interest called on them to rather always pray for and appreciate the sense of justice, fairness, equity, detribalized nature of Governor Yahaya Bello who has created history by making one of them number two citizen of the state.

He urged the people of Ogugu to do away with their selfish interest and thinking of the common growth of the community, hence his interest for year 2020 is the completion of the Ogugu Town Hall and the take off of the recently sited Federal Technical College in the area.

The Deputy Governor said critics which comprises of those who did not want the return of the present administration to power in the first place have continued to take to the social media to bandy rumours about those in power rather than work on their political interest to be able wrestle power from the APC in future elections.

He said the people of Ogugu should concentrate on factors that would encourage the development of their communities because his interest lies in the development of Kogi State and not in what anyone is saying about whether he still has influence and access within government circles or not.

While calling on members of the associations which include Ogugu Development Union, the Ogugu Extension, the media practitioners of Ogugu Origin and others, enjoined the people to be united at all times.

He particularly called on the people of the community to give necessary support to the Federal Technical College in Ogugu to have smooth take off by making necessary sacrifices because its sighting within the community was the handiwork of Governor Bello through the instrumentality of the immediate past Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mrs Rosemary Osinkoya.

Speaking, various contributors representing all the groups including the women and youth angle at the meeting, praised the Deputy Governor for attracting development to the area since his emergence in the state political scene.\

They congratulated the Governor and his Deputy for their electoral victory and recent swearing in and pledged their loyalty to the administration at all times.
