NYCN Idah Chapter Passes Vote of Confidence on Coordinator

  • Commend Governor Ododo for Appointing Members into Government

The Idah Local Government chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), has unanimously passed a vote of confidence on its coordinator, Comrade Muhammed Umoru. This decision was made during a general meeting held on June 4, 2024, at the Idah Youth House.

Members of the NYCN Idah LG chapter praised Comr. Umoru for his proactive and diligent handling of council affairs. They specifically highlighted his effective intervention in addressing issues such as the inconsistent power supply by liaising with the AEDC Idah Area office and his successful engagement with filling station owners to resolve the hike in the price of premium motor spirit. These actions helped prevent a planned protest by explaining the reasons behind these issues to the youths.

The motion for the vote of confidence was moved, seconded, and unanimously supported by the council members. Comr. Muhammed Umoru also serves as the chairman of the Kogi East Forum of Coordinators.

The council also expressed gratitude to the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his commitment to youth empowerment through strategic appointments. Notably, the appointments of the youngest Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Hon. Monday Onyebe, Comr. Oladele John Nihi as Special Assistant on Youths and Students Matters, Comr. Abdulkadir Ali-Keller as Senior Special Assistant on Youth Matters, and Comr. Isah Emmanuel Ojiduene as Senior Special Assistant on Student Affairs.

In addition, the council thanked the Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Hon. Monday Onyebe for his visit to the Idah chapter, where he interacted with the youth and students, discussing Governor Ododo’s initiatives such as the prompt monthly payment of subventions and student bursaries.

The NYCN Idah chapter also extended their appreciation to the NYCN state chairman, Comr. Benjamin Jeremiah, for accompanying the Youth and Sports Commissioner to Idah, the cradle of the Igala kingdom.
