Ododo Calls for Unity, Mass Mobilisation for APC E-Registration in Kogi

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and critical stakeholders across the state to embrace unity and actively mobilise for the party’s ongoing electronic registration (e-registration) exercise, describing it as a strategic step toward strengthening the party ahead of future elections.

Speaking at a critical stakeholders’ meeting on APC e-registration in Lokoja on Saturday, Governor Ododo said the exercise was not routine but designed to consolidate the party’s structure, expand its membership base and enhance data-driven planning.

According to him, a strong and united APC remains essential for sustaining development, producing effective leadership and protecting the interests of the people. He noted that the growth of the party would benefit all members collectively, stressing that no individual owns the APC.

“Our party belongs to all Nigerians who believe in the greatness of this nation. Nobody should feel excluded or sidelined,” the governor said, adding that unity remains the party’s greatest strength.
Governor Ododo commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his role in building strong political structures, both as a former governor of Lagos State and now as National Leader of the APC. He said the president’s leadership had reinforced security, economic stability and national cohesion, while positioning the APC as a modern, data-driven political party through initiatives such as e-registration.
He explained that the e-registration exercise would enable the party to admit new members and effectively plan using accurate and comprehensive membership data, describing it as “modern and strategic politics.”

The governor also highlighted federal interventions in Kogi State, including renewed efforts on the Ajaokuta Steel Company and other ongoing projects, as reasons for increased grassroots support for the APC. He argued that no other political party had benefited the state more than the APC.

On youth and student engagement, Governor Ododo pointed to federal and state initiatives such as the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) and the Kogi State bursary scheme, noting that these programmes had strengthened the party’s appeal among young people.

He cautioned against internal division, warning that disunity had historically deprived the state of fully harnessing its human and natural resources. He urged party members to put aside personal interests and work collectively to expand the APC’s reach ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“Elections have not started yet. What has started is the work to fortify our platform for future victories,” he said, adding that active participation in the registration exercise was a measure of loyalty to the party.

Governor Ododo concluded by calling on beneficiaries of the party to give back through mobilisation and constructive engagement, stressing that the present moment was for building unity, strengthening the party and securing a better future for Kogi State and Nigeria.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State, Hon. Abdullahi Bello, expressed appreciation to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and party stakeholders for honouring the invitation to the critical meeting, describing their presence as a demonstration of collective commitment to the growth and stability of the party. He noted that the gathering was timely and strategic, coming at a period when the APC was repositioning itself for greater inclusiveness and electoral strength.

Hon. Bello said the APC leadership in the state was fully aligned with the vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ododo to build a modern, united and data-driven political party. He explained that the e-registration exercise was designed to deepen internal democracy, strengthen party structures at all levels and provide a credible database that would enhance effective planning and mobilisation.

The state party chairman urged all stakeholders, ward leaders and party faithful to take ownership of the registration process by ensuring massive participation across communities. He stressed that the success of the exercise would further entrench the APC as the dominant political force in Kogi State, while fostering unity, discipline and shared responsibility among members as the party prepares for future electoral contests.

Other stakeholders drawn from the three senatorial districts who spoke called for collective commitment to ensure the success of the APC e-registration exercise across the state.
