Ododo Commissions Key Projects in Ekiti, Hails Governor Oyebanji’s People-Oriented Leadership

The Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, on Tuesday joined his Ekiti State counterpart, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, to commission a set of people-oriented projects in Ilawe-Ekiti, describing them as clear evidence of visionary and people-centered governance.
The event, which drew top government officials, traditional rulers, and community leaders, featured the commissioning of the Ikere–Ilawe Road and the renovated and fully equipped General Hospital, Ilawe-Ekiti.
Governor Ododo, who was warmly received at the “Fountain of Knowledge,” commended Governor Oyebanji for his outstanding developmental strides, noting that the visible transformation across the state reflects his deep commitment to public service.

“Today’s event is not just about commissioning projects; it is about celebrating vision, leadership, and the undying spirit of service to the people,” Ododo said.
He lauded Oyebanji’s achievements across various sectors of infrastructure, healthcare, education, and youth development, describing them as “visible, impactful, and inspiring.”
Ododo particularly praised the completion of the 20.65-kilometre Ikere–Ilawe Road, which began under a previous administration but stalled at about 15 percent completion. He said its completion under Oyebanji’s leadership proves that “when a leader is progressive, people-focused, and forward-looking, development continues regardless of political transitions.”
The Kogi governor also applauded the remodeling and equipping of the General Hospital, Ilawe-Ekiti, emphasizing that access to quality healthcare remains the foundation of a productive society.
“These projects are more than physical structures, they represent hope, opportunity, and the heartbeat of good governance,” Ododo noted.
He urged the people of Ekiti State to take ownership of the projects and continue to support their governor, whom he described as “an indomitable asset to the progressive family.”

Ododo further highlighted the historical and social ties between Kogi and Ekiti States, stressing that both share a strong bond rooted in unity and mutual respect.
The Kogi governor also used the occasion to commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for implementing bold economic reforms that have strengthened state governments to deliver tangible development at the grassroots.
“Without those fearless policies that have redefined the destiny of our nation, we may not be witnessing these giant strides we are celebrating here today,” he said.
The ceremony climaxed with the official commissioning of the Ikere–Ilawe Road and the renovated General Hospital, Ilawe-Ekiti, to the delight of residents who hailed both leaders for their collaboration and shared commitment to grassroots development.
