Wife of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth and Women Mobilisation Kabba-Bunnu, Ijumu Federal Constituency, Mrs. Folashade Olobatoke has been recognized by the Women Initiative for good leadership for her consistent humanitarian endeavours within the constituency.

The Award was presented on Saturday by the NGO in an event “One Million Women Unity Solidarity Rally” tagged stronger and better together held in Kabba.

The Business Woman and renowned philanthropist while presenting her address as the guest speaker titled “Women and Grassroot Mobilization for National Unity” submitted that the critical ingredient that weaved the whole world together and ensured its workability were women

She added that the family structure was very closely knitted around women, and so, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that women, apart from being the basis of any family unit, are also focal point of national unity.

Mrs. Olobatoke alluded that the world’s history was littered with various stories of the roles that women have played in their families and communities, many of them valiant, some of them villainous.

She asserted also that Since the grassroot was since comprised of family units, hence to reach the grassroots, we must start with the family unit, where women remained the best contact to reach out to for effective grass root mobilization

She stated that as 2023 was fast approaching, there was an urgent need for national mobilization, and the best way was to start from the grassroots, adding that women therefore, have a great role to play in mobilizing for national unity and ensuring that the elections are held peacefully and successfully.

Mrs. Olobatoke thanked the administration of Governor. Bello for the lofty recognition his administration has given women as the state under his leadership stood tall as one to have implemented above 35 % affirmative action for women inclusiveness

She noted that such step has largely empowered women across the state to engage in deliberate grass root mobilisation because of the conducive environment created for women to thrive
