Onoja task new couple on love, tolerance
The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Chief Edward Onoja today Saturday, 28th November 2020, graced the wedding occasion of the daughter of the former Administrator of Ibaji Local Government Area, Hon. Thomas Offor, in Lokoja, Kogi State.
The Deputy Governor who spoke to the couple picked his nugget from the scripture, stating that marriage was an institution created by God, declaring that no man should put asunder what God has joined together.
He counseled the father of one of the couple, Hon. Thomas Offor, saying that he shouldn’t put asunder by coming in between the couple. Building on this, he extends his message to all, saying no one should put asunder to this critical institution of marriage.
He advised the couple to be tolerant because marriage is not a bed of roses. He prayed for multiplication of their family before next year. He also prayed for the resources needed to keep the home. He admonished the woman to love and respect her husband, reminding the man that this love from the woman should not also lead to the man abdicating his responsibilities.
He concluded by also talking shortly about politics. He stated that the current generation has to give way to the next generation, citing that 2023 elections as time that the Nigerian youths have decided to take their own future in their hands, in his words: ” in 2023 the Nigerian Youth who form 82% of voters and still growing has said without ambiguity that 2023 is our time”, asking them to believe and key in today.
The youths chorused unanimously to his position.
