Over 200 Enroll in Kogi State Health Insurance Agency’s Informal Sector Plan in Aiyetoro Gbede
Philanthropists, NGOs and good spirited individuals have been called upon to make good use of the Adoption Model of the Kogi State Health Agency to sponsor and enroll members of their various communities into the Informal Sector Vital Contributor Plan designed for individuals, families and groups in communities to have unhindered access to quality health care services all year round with optimal financial risk protection.
The Executive Secretary of Kogi State Health Insurance Agency, KGSHIA, Dr Adekunle Aledare, made the call at Aiyetoro Gbede in Ijumu Local Government Area while leading enrollment officers of the agency to enroll over two hundred persons sponsored and adopted by Engr. Michael Obanewo into the Agency’s Vital Contributor Plan.
Dr. Aledare noted that due to global increase in cost of living including financial access to health care services, the only way out in ensuring financial risk protection in accessing health care services is through health insurance.
The Executive Secretary said the Vital Contributor health insurance plan is available for individuals to enroll at fifteen thousand naira per annum adding that individuals, Philanthropists , Non- Governmental organizations should embrace the Adoption model of the Agency to give back to their loved ones and communities. He added that the best gift you can give to your people is a gift of continuous access to quality health care services .
A philanthropist, Engr Michael Obanewo, stated he was moved by the plight of the less priveledged in the society who can hardly afford the increasing cost of health care expenditure. he asserted that he would continue to cater for the health of the people of his community as a healthy community will translate to a wealthy community.
Speaking on the success of the enrollment, High Chief Olukoyi Jacob Orisamaye thanked Engineer Michael Obanewo for rolling out the health insurance plan for Aiyetoro Gbede community.
Toyin Best who is the committee chairman for the mobilization of the beneficiaries said his committee worked with the six community chiefs in ensuring beneficiaries are evenly enrolled within the community.
He thanked Engr. Obanewo for the good gesture to the community and urged well to do sons and daughters of the community to emulate Engr Obanewo and Scale up the Coverage as there are still other people in the community not yet covered
