P-LUKE: Rejoinder Statement By The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Kogi State Chapter
The attention of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Kogi State Chapter, under the leadership of Comrade Abdulrahaman Abdulmumuni, popularly know as Comrade (A.A Enesi) has been drawn to a press statement credited to an individual known as Usman Ogohi Samuel, parading himself as the Chairman of the NYCN, Kogi State Chapter.
The Council wishes to categorically state that the said individual is not recognized by the Constitution of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, nor by the statutory regulatory organs and supervisory authorities of the Council. Consequently, he lacks the legitimacy and authority to issue statements or take positions on behalf of Kogi State youths or the NYCN in any capacity.
For the avoidance of doubt, the NYCN Kogi State Chapter led by Comrade Abdulrahaman Abdulmumuni emerged through a duly convened and lawful congress, supervised by the National Headquarters of the NYCN and the Kogi State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, in strict compliance with constitutional provisions and extant laws governing youth administration in the state and country.
This leadership remains the only legally constituted and recognized NYCN structure in Kogi State.
On the issue of the Governor’s public remarks concerning the Light Up Kogi East Project, the NYCN acknowledges the seriousness and developmental importance of the matter.
However, the Council emphasizes that issues of such public sensitivity and institutional implication require measured, fact-based, and responsible engagement, rather than hasty generalizations or unilateral actions capable of misleading the public.
Accordingly, the NYCN Kogi State Chapter has commenced constructive engagement with the Kogi State Government and relevant stakeholders to ascertain the full facts surrounding the project, its status, and any challenges associated with its implementation.
This approach aligns with the Council’s long-standing commitment to due process, dialogue, and responsible advocacy in the best interest of the state and its people.
The NYCN assures the teeming youths of Kogi State, particularly those in Kogi East, that the matter, being central to development, economic activity, and social wellbeing is of utmost importance to the Council.
The NYCN will pursue all lawful and institutional avenues to ensure that the truth is established and that justice, accountability, and the public interest are upheld.
The Council further calls on the public and the media to disregard statements issued by unauthorized individuals and to rely only on communications from the duly recognized leadership of the NYCN, Kogi State Chapter.
Build the Youth..! Build the National!
Signed:
Comrade Abdulmumuni Abdulrahaman Enesi
Chairman,
National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN)
Kogi State Chapter.
