The Pharmacist Abdulkareem Asuku Youth Empowerment Foundation (PAAYEF), has paid the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and the National Examinations Council (NECO) fees for the winner of the recently conducted spelling bee competition by the National Association of Ebira Students (NAES).
Recall that the Chief of Staff to Kogi State Governor, Pharmacist AbdulKarim Jamiu Asuku in his compassionate manner awarded scholarship to Mohammed Umulsalma, the daughter of the Late Alh. Muhammad Onusagba, the former Majority Leader of the Kogi State State House of Assembly who represented Okene 1 Constituency.
Focal Person of PAAYEF, Hon. Sandra Mimi, on Tuesday was at Audu Wokili Academy in Nagazi, Okene local government area to upset all school fees, including WAEC and NECO for the student.
Mimi said the gesture by the Chief of Staff through PAAYEF was aimed at rewarding hard work and encouraging academic excellence. She said Pharmacist Asuku sees education as a major investment in the lives of young people, adding that the vision of PAAYEF is to continue to support students to excel in their academic pursuit.
The Principal of Audu Wokili Academy, Mall Abdulkareem Sadik Oyibo, commended the Chief of Staff for keeping to his promise, adding that being true to his words is one of the qualities that distinguishes him from others.
Mother of Umulsalma, Mrs Minat Zainab,
who was overwhelmed by joy offered special prayers for Pharmacist Asuku and PAAYEF. She said the Chief’s prayers will be answered and all his burden lessened just as he has lessen hers.
PAAYEF also visited Kingdom Heritage Model School Obehira road, Okene. Where they paid school for two siblings outstanding pupils, Ogara Jibril and Ogara Ameerah.
