Per Amore Foundation Secures Freedom for Wrongfully Accused Man, Plans Further Humanitarian Outreach

In a landmark legal victory, the Per Amore Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to humanitarian causes, has secured the freedom of a 28-year-old man who was discharged and acquitted of conspiracy to kidnap by the Kogi State High Court.

Zakari (not his real name) was arrested in May 2024 and subsequently charged in connection with an alleged conspiracy to kidnap one Abraham John. However, after months of legal proceedings, Justice Salisu Abubakar ruled in favor of the defense, noting that the prosecution failed to establish a case. Zakari’s acquittal is a testament to the defense’s skill and expertise.

The legal team, led by Barrister Patrick Jibrin of the Per Amore Foundation, played a crucial role in securing Zakari’s freedom. Through rigorous defense strategies and the presentation of credible witnesses, the case was dismantled, bringing relief to the defendant, who had spent months behind bars.

Speaking in his native dialect upon regaining his freedom, Zakari expressed profound joy and gratitude for the intervention of the Per Amore Foundation. His case highlights the plight of many individuals who face prolonged detention due to weak prosecution or lack of legal representation.

The Per Amore Foundation remains committed to fostering sustainable change through legal aid, education, health initiatives, prisoner rehabilitation, and community engagement.

The foundation’s intervention in Zakari’s case stands as a testament to its dedication to justice and humanitarian service. As it continues its work, more lives stand to be transformed through legal, social, and economic empowerment.
