Pharm. Asuku celebrates Kogi Poly Rector, Dr. Usman Ogbo on his birthday. »

The Chief of Staff to the Kogi State Governor, Pharmacist Abdulkareem Muhammad Jamiu Asuku, has congratulated the Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Dr. Salisu Ogbo on his Birthday, citing his amazing works.

In a message personally signed by the Chief of Staff and made available to newsmen, he described Dr. Ogbo as a rare and exemplary man, who has distinguished himself right from time amongst his peers.

He said the Rector is a man with a hunger for knowledge, who is passionate about the educational growth of our youths and people.

“Dr. S.O Usman is an educationist who has published over 25 articles in reputable local and international journals and has several chapters in edited books to his credit.

“On the 7th of April 2020, seeing his capacity and track records in educational transformation from prior works in Kogi State University now Prince Abubakar Abdu University when he was a staff at the university, Governor Yahaya Bello appointed him as the acting Rector of the Kogi state Polytechnic, a position he held for some months.

“With the zeal he is known for, he energetically set to work on a lot of projects to transform the academic and administrative look of the polytechnic. Seeing these achievements within a short period of time, Governor Yahaya Bello confirmed his appointment as the substantive Rector on 11th February 2021 in order to build on the achievements he made and bring back the lost glory of the polytechnic and our tertiary educational sector.

“Dr. Usman has brought the following developmental projects to the Kogi State Polytechnic: Building of 40-bed health centre, general drainage and erosion control, restoration of internet service, creation of legal unit, six TETFUND projects under his watch, renovation of lecture halls, creation of four Directorates: SERVICOM/Sport, Information Technology and Resources Centre, Advancement Support and Linkages.

Looking at his qualifications, administrative experience and his passion when it comes to developmental projects, we can conclude that His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello has once again made the right choice for the Kogi State polytechnic and pray the Rector will sustain this giant stride and bring more development to the Polytechnic.
