Pharm Asuku restates Gov Bello’s commitment to improving rural infrastructure in Kogi as he commissions projects in Ankpa
Chief of Staff to Kogi State Governor, Pharmacist Abdulkarim Muhammad Jamiu Asuku has restated the commitment of Governor Yahaya Bello to ensure improved infrastructure in the State.
He stated this on Friday in Ankpa during the commissioning of projects executed by the member representing Ankpa II state constituency at the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon Rabiu momoh Alfa Isiaka.
Pharm Asuku noted that the educational facilities provided would improve the standards of education in Ankpa Local Government Area, and shows they were taking cues from the examples being set by Governor Yahaya Bello who is their Leader.
The Chief of Staff was represented at the occasion by the State Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr Abubakar Bashir Gegu.
According to the Chief of Staff who praised the legislator for his unique taste and determination to touch lives of his constituents positively, noted that provision of amenities was the responsibility of all, saying the synergy between the legislative arm of government and the executive in Kogi was worthy of emulation.
According to Pharm Asuku, development in the society was not exclusive preserve of those in power only, and urged well meaning individuals and groups to also contribute their quota to societal development.
Pharm Asuku then called on other lawmakers to copy from Hon Rabiu in order to ensure rapid development in Kogi State, saying it was only through that that communities would witness improvement in social amenities at their disposal.
Projects commissioned include: Laboratory and Library in Enabo, Enjema District and the Rehabilitation of the Administrative Block in Ojoku Secondary School in Ojoku Districts which Pharm Asuku advised the community to protect at all times to avoid vandalisation or damage.
Reacting, Hon Rabiu Isiaka Alfa said the project was borne out of his desire to have quality educational infrastructure for the area, saying he knew the New Direction government of Governor Bello was committed to having only the best quality structures and staff in all institutions to ensure the next generation have access to the best quality Education.
He expressed his determination to continue to do his best for his people and urged to always give their unalloyed support to the policies and programmes of the current administration in the state.
Also in attendance at the commissioning was the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, the Commissioner for Sports and Youths development, the representative of the Commissioner for Education, Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Provost of College of Education, Ankpa, other lawmakers among other top government officials.
