Plan to Falsely Label Yahaya Bello as Security Threat Uncovered

The media office of the former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has revealed a plot by certain groups to frame him as a supporter of the #EndBadGovernance protests. According to a statement Ohiare Michael, these groups aim to tarnish his reputation by linking him to these demonstrations.

The statement specifically calls out Jackson Ude, labeling him as a “clout-chasing criminal” and “blackmailer,” accusing him of spreading false information about Yahaya Bello’s involvement in the protests. The office emphasizes that Yahaya Bello is a dedicated patriot who has contributed significantly to Nigeria’s unity and prosperity.

Citing past instances, the media office highlights Bello’s role in mediating between Northern food transporters and their Southern counterparts to avert a major crisis, as well as his involvement in challenging the Naira Redesign Policy, which led to a Supreme Court judgment that helped stabilize the nation.

The statement also mentions Bello’s efforts in mobilizing support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the 2023 Presidential Poll, underscoring his loyalty and commitment to the current administration.

Jackson Ude is accused of fabricating news to serve the interests of his paymasters and defame politically exposed individuals. The media office dismisses Ude’s recent social media claims about Bello’s alleged involvement in a coup plot as part of a broader scheme to create a rift between Bello and President Tinubu.

The Yahaya Bello Media Office urges law enforcement and intelligence agencies to investigate Ude’s claims, considering them a matter of national security. They also express confidence in Nigeria’s security community to address the issue appropriately.

The statement reaffirms Yahaya Bello’s dedication to Nigeria’s progress and stability, urging the public to disregard Ude’s falsehoods and continue supporting President Tinubu’s administration.
