Pro-democracy Activist Lauds Kogi Central Constituents’ Recall Process, Says Natasha Has Failed Them

Activist, and pro-democracy advocate, Comrade Okpe Sylvanus, has lauded the decision of constituents of Kogi Central Senatorial District to recall the embattled Senator representing them at the National Assembly, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
The activist, in a video that has now gone viral, said these were the electorate of Kogi Central and that, going by their constitutional rights, they also had the power to recall her at anytime.
In the four minutes, 36 seconds video, he lambasted the suspended Senator over what he described as her mischievous allegations against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
The activist said, as a lawyer, a Senator and educated woman, she ought to have known the basic evidence law that he who asserts must prove.
He accused the suspended Senator of using money “that would better the lives of the good people of Kogi Central to run everywhere in the world, talking nonsense.”
According to him, Akpoti-Uduaghan’s history had shown her penchant for accusing people falsely. He cited the case of a false sexual harassment against Reno Omokri, which was faulted with concrete evidence.
“I’m not from Kogi Central. They are the only ones that know their yearnings and aspirations, which she has not met. But I know, as a Nigerian, who follows events, that her allegations, where she said the Senate President sexually harassed her, as a lawyer, a Senator, educated woman, she ought to have known the basic evidence law that he who asserts must prove.
“Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan doesn’t have any single evidence for these allegations. She made the allegations recklessly. Show text messages or any concrete evidence that will make us believe these allegations are true. She has not.
“What she wants is to stoke emotions and make Nigerians believe what she has said, which is not possible. Even if you want to believe her, she has a bad history of wrongfully accusing people.
“She did that to Reno Omokri in 2021. When she was confronted with unimpeachable evidence, she chickened out.
“As a Nigerian man, who holds Nigerian and African women in high esteem, who knows the societal values attached to African and Nigerian women, I was ashamed and shocked to hear her talk about how he pressed her hand, talked about her waist and all the embarrassing things she was saying.
“I’m further surprised. Where’s her husband? I’m surprised that any man could allow his wife to undertake such actions. I’m surprised that any man would allow his wide to bring such shame to him,” he stated.
Sylvanus said, to change the narrative, Akpoti-Uduaghan’s people were beginning to sell the propaganda that the recall attempt was sponsored by the state government.
He said, “I saw one girl doing a video, one content creator. These people just talk trash that they don’t know.
“Which constituents won’t be pained seeing their representative wasting valuable time that should have been used to represent them constructively to talk about waist all over the world, and attempting to blackmail the Senate President?”
He mocked those bringing former Governor Yahaya Bello into the recall picture, saying, “It is clear that the name of former Governor Yahaya Bello is very sweet in the mouths of these people. If anyone does anything, it’s Yahaya Bello. Another person does another person, it is Yahaya Bello.”
