Progressive SSA Group Endorses Architect Salman Idris for Second Term

A caucus of Senior Special Assistants (SSAs), largely drawn from Ijumu Local Government Area, has formally declared its support for the re-election of Salman Idris, the member representing Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

The group, operating under the banner Tiwantiwa Lekansi, comprises no fewer than 23 SSAs representing a significant majority of appointees from Ijumu. According to the caucus, its endorsement is predicated on the lawmaker’s performance record, accessibility to constituents, and demonstrable commitment to grassroots development since assuming office.

Speaking on behalf of the forum, its Chairman, Chief Shuaib Ipinmisho, who also serves as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Land Matters, described Idris as a focused and results-driven legislator. He noted that a second term would align with the principles of equity, continuity, and sustained progress for the constituency.

The group maintained that granting Idris another mandate would consolidate achievements recorded during his first tenure while deepening effective representation and expanding legislative benefits to the people of Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu.

Beyond constituency considerations, the caucus expressed confidence in the lawmaker’s political reach and grassroots appeal, asserting that his re-election would bolster broader electoral prospects within the state. Members also highlighted their belief that his popularity and performance would complement the second-term aspirations of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Usman Ododo.

During a recent courtesy visit to the legislator’s office in Abuja, the group engaged with political leaders, technocrats, and stakeholders from Ijumu and the wider Okun axis. At the meeting, members formally presented their collective position and strategic vision for advancing his re-election bid.

The caucus outlined its core objectives to include: Promoting the ideals and legislative contributions of Architect Salman Idris through peaceful, lawful, and persuasive engagement.
Mobilising constituents across Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency in support of continuity.
Highlighting the achievements and legislative milestones recorded during his first term.

Presenting a clear and forward-looking second-term agenda anchored on sustainable development.

Reaffirming its commitment to democratic principles, the group pledged to pursue its advocacy through lawful and non-violent means, emphasising that continuity remains central to consolidating development gains within the constituency.
