Project Inspection: Governor Ododo Urges Contractors to Accelerate Progress, Achieve Timely Completion »

Says administration eager to bring development to Kogi state.

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo has urged contractors handling the ongoing construction projects within Lokoja metropolis to hasten their pace of work and deliver project in record time nothing that his administration was very eager to consolidate on the achievements of the immediate past government and further bring development to the state.

The Governor made this known on Thursday during an inspection of the 5.5km Crusher – Zone 8 round about dual carriage road and the 9km GYB Junction – Zango – Zone 8 round about dual carriage roads where he queried contractors over the slow pace of work.

Governor Ododo who was also taken to the sight of the proposed Kogi Ultra modern Market hinted that his government was seeking to explore various means to boost the social economic potential of the state and open up development in areas which were quiet underdeveloped.

The Ultra modern Market which would be situated along the Crusher – CBN axis of the state is said to be a fully functional market with infrastructures like Police station, fire service station, road networks, hospital, places of worship, banks, office spaces, food stores and other facilities while 20% of the proposed market would be left for future development.

The Governor while commending the insight surrounding the proposed market, he said his administration would continue to ensure that kogi state witnessed speedy growth in every of its sector while he urged contractors to ensure that the process of compensation were commenced in earnest without delay.

While inspecting the road projects, Governor Ododo noted that both roads hold great potential to the socio economic growth and the Internally Generated Revenue drive of the state hence the resolve of the last government to award the project and his government immediate resolve to ensure its completion. He also said that the people of kogi state, deserved to ply on the roads with great comfort.

The governor thanked the citizen for their patience while the construction is still ongoing, adding that while his administration would embark on several infrastructural projects, his government has no reason not to consolidate on the gains made by the the immediate past New Direction Government. Governor Ododo similarly appreciated the construction workers, lauding them for taking the path of diligence and hardwork as against crime and criminality.
