RE: Misrepresentation of my Statement Regarding Omala LG Request for Support on 2027 Reps Ticket
My attention has been drawn to certain interpretations being circulated on some online media platforms regarding my recent statement on the issue of the Senate and House of Representatives positions.
For the sake of clarity and proper public understanding, I wish to respectfully and clearly restate the position as conveyed during the meeting with Olamaboro APC stakeholders.
My statement was clear, unambiguous and straightforward: That Olamaboro is desirous of both the Senate seat and the House of Representatives seat. This position reflects the collective position of the stakeholders from our local government, which I had the privilege to communicate on behalf of the Honourable Commissioner.
At no time did I state or suggest that the House of Representatives position had been conceded, surrendered, or exclusively reserved for Omala or any particular local government, individual, or group. Any interpretation to that effect does not represent the true meaning or intention of my statement.
What I emphasized was the need for unity, cooperation, and total support for whoever eventually emerges as the preferred candidate for any of the positions, and as may be agreed by party arrangements, as such, collective bargaining remains essential for the victory of APC in the forthcoming election.
It is therefore important to correct the impression that our stakeholders have taken any position contrary to this. Our stand remains consistent and unchanged: Olamaboro is eminently qualified for both positions, and our priority should continue to be broad consultation, mutual understanding, and consensus-building in the overall interest of our party and our people.
I urge our supporters and the general public to disregard any contrary narrative and remain focused on the larger goal of strengthening our collective political aspiration through peace, unity, and fairness.
Thank you.
Signed:
Hon. Olofu Gabriel
