SA on Labour Matters, Comr. Onuh Edoka, Commends Gov Ododo for Debt Liquidation, Expresses Confidence in Kogi’s Progress under His Leadership

The Special Adviser to Kogi State Governor on Labour Matters, Comrade Onuh Edoka says the debt Liquidation of ninety eight point eight billion naira by Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is a strategic way of ensuring aggressive development of the State.
Comrade Edoka, while speaking on the positive development in Lokoja, noted that the Governor’s efforts at paying such debts owed by previous administrations demonstrated his political will at ensuring responsive governance.
According to him, the state is being properly positioned for socio economic, infrastructural and human development devoid of any form of sentiment.
Comrade Edoka commended the Governor for taking the bold step, which he noted is exemplary and first of its kind in the history of the State.
“It is important to State it clearly that no government or Governor has liquidated such quantum of debts, it is on record, rather, they continue to pile up debts in the name of development, but now, we can see that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has done it differently again, this shows he has a large heart indeed and he should be commended for this singular initiative because 98.8 billion naira is never a small money”, Comrade Edoka stated.
The Special Adviser explained that with this, there is guarantee in both human and infrastructural development across Kogi State, just as the people can see his attention to the welfare of the people and even workers, roads construction and sound economic policies which are capable of turning around the fortunes of Kogi State.
Edoka urged the people to support the government in all of its policies and programmes saying the Governor is already demonstrating transparency and accountability in governance which are the hall marks of genuine leadership.
“The Governor is keeping to his words, he is showing that his government is that of continuity and consolidation, while previous projects are being completed, new ones are equally being initiated and flagged off, this is quite encouraging, giving hope to the hopeless and reassuring to say the least, let’s continue to pray for him.” he avered.
The Special Adviser on Labour matters added that Kogi has become a pace setter in financial management, urging other Governors to toe his line for the benefit of their people.
It will be recalled that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo recently payed off debt of 98.8 billion naira owed by previous administrations, which include over fifty billion naira bond and those of Zenith bank and United Bank for Africa, UBA among others.
